KAMPALA, UGANDA: Just hours after Midland High School released a statement disowning the students filmed twerking and cuddling in the viral video, the management of Lubiri High School in Mengo has finally opened up after hours of silence on the shameful act.
In the video that has since gone viral on social media, female students are seen dancing seductively on the laps of their male counterparts with many netizens rushing to a conclusion that these were ‘chewing each other’ in broad daylight.
According to an earlier statement by Midland High School, FX Kyasa the headteacher said the students were those of Lubiri High School who had hired their bus for an agricultural our to Jinja on Friday, June 10, 2022.
However, Lubiri High School quickly dismissed the claims from Midland’s headteacher and disowned the students involved in the bizarre incident on the school bus.
“There is a video circulating on social media involving misconduct of some students on a school bus. “Lubiri High School, however, strongly distances itself from it and any involvement thereto,” reads the statement from Lubiri High School released on Saturday, June 11, 2022.
“We are an institution built on imparting discipline and cultural norms to the young generation. We, therefore, strongly condemn such misbehaviour,” the school added.
The school however quickly added that investigations are underway to establish the video’s authenticity and those involved in the act.
The video has sparked outrage with parents and teachers condemning it in equal measure.
Some concerned parents on a WhatsApp group even suggested that it could have been sex.
