KAGADI, UGANDA: Students property worth millions of Shillings has been destroyed in a fire that gutted the boy’s dormitory at Mabaale public secondary school in Mabaale town council, Kagadi district.
The school director, Yonna Bagonza, says that the fire broke out at around 9:00pm on Tuesday when students were attending night preps. It destroyed mattresses, books, jerrycans, clothes, and money among others.
No casualties have been reported. Bagonza says that they suspect an arson attack because the affected dormitory has been using solar lights.
Officers from Mabaale police station were still searching the area for clues on the fire when our reporter filed this story. Similar fire incidents have been reported at Mbarara Secondary School boys dormitory followed by Rushanje Girls, St Andrews Secondary School Rubindi, and Mbarara High View school Katete over the past few weeks.
