KAMPALA, UGANDA: Police at Katwe division in Kampala has summoned singer Spice Diana aka Namukwaya Hajjara on allegations of murder of a 27-year-old man who was found dead outside her residence at Ngobe zone, Bunamwaya, Wakiso district.

The deceased identified as one Henry Nsamba, a casual labourer was beaten badly outside the singer’s home and died on arrival at Mulago Hospital.

According to police, it is alleged that the victim was clobbered to death after a mob nabbed him climbing over a wall fence at the singer’s home on 30th June 2022 with an intention to steal.

Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire said police arrived on the spot after the locals had beaten Nsamba to death before his body was taken to Mulago Hospital.

“Investigations are underway to establish the cause of death of the suspected robber and the people who carried out mob justice causing his demise,” ASP Owoyesigyire said of the incident.

He bemoaned citizens for taking the law into their own hands and said that the police will quickly establish the circumstances under which Nsamba died and how he managed to scale the singer’s wall in order to attempt to rob her.

Spice Diana is said to be distressed over the incident and has not offered any information regarding the incident.

This is not the first time a popular Ugandan singer is being embroiled in a similar scenario.

On 26th December 2012, another 27-year-old man Robert Karamagi allegedly died at the home of Leone Island chief Joseph Mayanja.

The 27-year-old Karamaji allegedly set himself ablaze after being caught intruding on the singer’s home in Seguku.
