Lord Mayor Lukwago’s Father passes on

Hajj Mirundi passed away on Tuesday afternoon at Masaka Referral Hospital, where he had been admitted with an illness.

KAMPALA, UGANDA: Hajji Muhamood Mirundi, the father of Kampala Lord Mayor Ssalongo Erias Lukwago has passed on. He was aged 92 years old.

Hajj Mirundi passed away on Tuesday afternoon at Masaka Referral Hospital, where he had been admitted with an illness.

Lukwago, who is also the Deputy President of the Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) shared the news of his father’s demise in a social media post.

“My beloved Father and mentor, Hajji Muhamood Mirundi, has passed on. Inna lillahi wa inna illaihi raji’oon. Fare thee well Taata. Till we meet, weraba Taata wange omulungi,” the Lord Mayor said in a Facebook post.

Mzee Mirundi will be laid to rest tomorrow Wednesday 24th August in Kabungo village, Kalungu District.

Lord Mayor Lukwago is one of over 20 children sired by the late Mirundi.
