Former KCCA Fc striker Sadat Anaku opened his goal tally for his new club Dundee United in Scotland in style after netting a hat-trick in an unofficial debut for the side.

Anaku, 21, featured for the Dundee United B team alongside fellow countryman Enock Walusimbi as his side saw out Young Queen Park FC 6-2 in a friendly match at Lonchin on Tuesday night..

The Uganda Kobs forward last week impressed Dundee United coach Jack Ross in the trails he featured him in the games against U-23 sides of Arsenal, Newcastle and Leicester netting in the latter which prompted the side to sign him as one of their own.

Featuring for the team’s side B team on Tuesday, Anaku took only 34 minutes latching on a through ball from the midfield to level the score at 1-1 before notching another just 5 minutes later to make 2-1. Teammate Clark added the third goal to provide a comfortable two-goal at cushion 3-1 as the sides went into the break.

In the second half, Anaku wasted no time and completed his hattrick in the 56th minute before a rout that saw two more goals to make it 6-2 at full-time whistle.

While Anaku has been handed a contract by the club, Walusimbi is loaned to second-division club Peterhead for six months.

The youngsters are beneficiaries of a project code-named, ‘Team Fundi’, in which 22 young Ugandan footballers were selected to play exhibition matches in Spain in February this year before coaches, managers, scouts, and intermediaries.

The select side played three games; winning two and losing one. At least 14 footballers were selected by different clubs in Portugal, France, Scotland and Spain.
