Popular messaging app, WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will enable ‘group admins’ to delete any message for everyone in a bid to enhance the platform’s user interface.
According to WhatsApp tracker WABetaInfo, the new “Admin Delete” feature which is available for beta users will allow admins to moderate their WhatsApp groups in a better way.
Inside this new feature, once an admin deletes a message, the other users will see the ‘This was deleted by an admin’ info text. This means that other people can always see that the admin has deleted something. The website also shared a screenshot of the new feature, “Admin Delete”.
The new feature, WhatsApp says, will roll out through the Google Play Beta Program, with the version up to 2.22.17.12 while some users might be able to find the feature after installing the previous update.
How to check if the ‘group admin’ feature is available in your WhatsApp
It’s simple to check the availability of this feature, open the group in which you are an admin, try deleting any message sent by any member, and see if the option “delete for everyone” appears or not. If yes, the feature is available for you!
Apart from this, WhatsApp is also working on the ‘kept messages’ feature and through this update, which can be seen within chat info in a new section. A kept message is a disappearing message which is temporarily converted to a standard WhatsApp message after its expiration time. The latest update will be available on WhatsApp beta for android, iOS, and desktop versions soon.
