Speke Resort Munyonyo to host Diwali Food Festival this Sunday

The event will be held this Sunday, October 16th 2022 starting midday and all rich cuisines of Indian Sub-continent foods will be showcased.

KAMPALA, UGANDA: Preparations are in high gear at Speke Resort Munyonyo as the Indian community in Uganda readies to celebrate the annual Diwali Festival set to take place this weekend.

The Diwali or Deepavali festival is one of the most significant festivals in Indian culture and calls for a number of traditional dishes. All the Rich Cuisines of Indian Sub-continent foods will be showcased, therefore you should expect a variety of traditional dishes, games, plays and other activities to symbolize the Indian culture.

The event will be held this Sunday, October 16th 2022 starting midday and all rich cuisines of Indian Sub-continent foods will be showcased.

Families, friends, and business associates participate in acts of love like gift exchanges, settling off old deals, forgive one another as a way of positivity and moving forward.

According to organisers, this year’s festival will have a variety of Indian delicacies, games, music and drinks for the people to enjoy and celebrate with their families and friends.

“There will be 52 food tents, music, a children’s corner and fireworks. All the rich cuisines of the Indian Sub-Continent will be there,” says one of the organisers.

Speke Resort Munyonyo has hosted a number of events, from United Nations Conferences, and African Union Summits, to concerts and weddings. But its crowning moment was being chosen to host the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in 2007.

A beautiful and luxurious resort seated on the shores of Lake Victoria, it is part of Ruparelia Group of Companies which is owned by businessman Sudhir Ruparelia.
