Manafwa labour officer perish in a road accident

The police in Manafwa district is investigating circumstances under which Manafwa labour officer Bwayo Buke Francis, 46, died in an accident along Manafwa- Lwakhakha highway.

MANAFWA, UGANDA: The police in Manafwa district is investigating circumstances under which Manafwa labour officer Bwayo Buke Francis, 46, died in an accident along Manafwa- Lwakhakha highway.

The regional police spokesperson Elgon region where Manafwa district fall, ASP Rogers Cryspus Taitika said that the accident happened at around 10pm Sunday night at Buwerwe village, Khabutoora parish, Khabutoora sub county in Manafwa district.

“The accident occured at around 2200hrs of 04/12/2022 at Buwerwe village, Khabutoola parish, Khabutoola sub county in Manafwa District,” ASP Taitika said in a Monday Police statement.

He identified the victims of the accident as the labour officer (now deceased) and his wife Jacklyn Buke who sustained injuries as they were traveling on their motorcycle reg no UFD 029X.

Mr Taitika confirmed to this publication that Bwayo died while being rushed to Wajjo Memorial Hospital in Manafwa for medical management.

Police arrived at the scene and conveyed the body to Mbale City mortuary pending postmortem as the wife was taken for treatment.
