However, Mubi says the boda boda cyclist managed to inform the integrated highway patrol car along Jinja- Iganga who started following the matter until they intercepted the vehicle on Tuesday and managed to apprehend three suspects.

Police has learnt that this criminal group is reportedly led by Isabirye Salongo who is also behind bars. It’s alleged that the motorcycles stolen from Jinja and other parts of Busoga are being sold in Pallisa district, however, police has promised to hunt down all criminals operating in Pallisa in connivance with those from Jinja.

Meanwhile, ASP Mubi has warned all those engaging in criminal activities like raping women, snatching phones and bags, etc ahead of the festive season to reform immediately. Mubi says some villages in Jinja city and Jinja district will be ‘cleaned’ as soon as security research is completed.

“We have observed some criminal tendencies in areas of Bugembe, Budondo and Buwenge in Jinja district like raping women, conning women through fake witch doctors, snatching phones and bags, selling people’s property, among others. We are still making research before surrounding you anytime,” Mubi warned.
