Kyabazinga rallies Buyende leaders to support New Life Schools project

The Kyabazinga said this last weekend during the launch of the kindergarten building at New Life Schools Buwaidha where he also broke the ground for the construction of a multimillion upper sections stored building which includes primary and secondary.

BUYENDE, UGANDA; The Kyabazinga of Busoga, His Majesty William Gabula Nadiope IV, has asked the leaders in Buyende district to support New Life Schools project to uplift the academic performances in the district.

The Kyabazinga said this last weekend during the launch of the kindergarten building at New Life Schools Buwaidha where he also broke the ground for the construction of a multimillion upper sections stored building which includes primary and secondary.

In his speech, His Majesty Nadiope IV, who is also the Patron of New Life Schools Buwaida narrated to his subjects how the idea of starting the school was reached in Buwaida and that one of the many reasons was to break the barrier of children having to trek long distances to access education.

Nadiope also commissioned the expansive complex that will host the baby, middle and top classes of the nursery section and interacted with the school directors, administration and the community.

The Kyabazinga was in the company of the kingdom’s Prime Minister Owek. Joseph Muvawala Nsekere, kingdom ministers, culture leaders, district leaders and educationists, among other guests.

In his remarks before the Kyabazinga, the LC5 chairperson Buyende district, Mr Michael Kanaku said that while the performance of primary schools in the district is still poor, there is an improvement as compared to about 20 years when the district barely registered a first-grade in the national Primary leaving Examination.

Mr Kanaku revealed that in the 2022 Primary leaving Examinations, the district registered 225 pupils in first grade, adding that with the coming of modern schools like New Life Schools Buwaidha, the district will benefit heavily as far as academics is concerned.

Buyende woman MP Hon Mary Annet Nakato, through the Kingdom’s Prime Minister, urged the kingdom to provide a transformer to power the school due to unreliable electricity supply.

The Executive Director of New Life Schools, Eng Isabirye Gerald, said they are starting with the opening of the kindergarten section, and soon, the primary section. The Kyabazinga commissioned the construction of the primary section complex.

“We are going to start with 150 pupils in the nursery section – fifty in baby class, another fifty in the middle class and fifty in top class,” Eng. Isabirye told the Kyabazinga.
