DStv Uganda hikes bouquet prices again as customers push for regulation over ‘dubious’ charges

The new DStv prices come barely six months when Multichoice increased the same bouquets at the start of the 2022/23 football season, with the service provider then citing inflation and economic pressures as the major force for the price adjustments.

DStv Uganda newly revised Bouquet Prices 2023

The new DStv prices come barely six months when Multichoice increased the same bouquets at the start of the 2022/23 football season, with the service provider then citing inflation and economic pressures as the major force for the price adjustments.

“We have considered the rate of consumer inflation and current economic pressures facing Uganda when considering our price adjustments,” Ms Joan Semanda Kizza, the Communications Manager for Multichoice Uganda said then in August 2022 when the new prices were announced.

The new rates for the paid TV service provider which enjoys the biggest share of the urban market has been met with a loud outcry with a section of Ugandans taking to their socials to call for the regulation of what they termed as “dubious charges’ imposed by the monopolistic company.

“Come on DSTv, you increased prices in September last month which is just 5 months ago. Its not fair. You can as well come for your dish because I am not paying this,” one Jonah Kirabo replied to DStv’s tweet.
