KAMPALA, UGANDA: The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) will this Friday, March 03, 2023, release the 2022 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE), the State Minister for Higher Education Dr John Chrysostom Muyingo has confirmed.
The UACE results will be released by Education Minister Janet Museveni at State House, Nakasero in Kampala, as was the case on the 2022 PLE and 2022 UCE results.
In light of the same, the board led by Executive Secretary Mr Dan Odongo and the chairperson, Prof. Mary Okwakol today held a briefing with Mrs Museveni and education ministry top officials about how the students performed ahead of the release of the results on Friday.
The 2022 UACE results will be the third and last set of the national exams to be released after PLE and UCE results that were released early in the month.
The first two sets of the end-of-cycle examinations; Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) and Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results have already been released.
The students slated to score more than two principal passes will qualify to join universities and other tertiary institutions. Those who fail to attain two principle passes will be required to repeat Senior Six or use their UCE results to join tertiary institutions.
According to UNEB statistics, total of 97,890 students in 2022 registered to sit for the exams compared to 98,392 who sat for the same examinations in 2020.
Ms Jennifer Kalule, the UNEB Spokesperson said of these, a total of 17,319 candidates were sponsored by the government under the Universal Post O’level education programme.
UACE students who will qualify to join higher education are expected to join in August for the new academic year 2023/24.
