Busoga Premier vows to quash Kigulu chiefdom parallel camp

This comes after a parallel camp from the late Izimba’s family was reportedly blocked from accessing the Kingdom headquarters as they wanted to present the son and heir of the late Patrick Izimba Gologolo (Prince Gideon Gologolo) as the new Ngobi of Kigulu.

IGANGA, UGANDA: The prime minister of Busoga Kingdom Dr Joseph Muvawala Mutamba Nsekere has vowed to ensure that Kigulu chiefdom is safe with only one administrative office which he says must be occupied by the right Ngobi of Kigulu.

The premier was Saturday representing the Kingdom at the thanksgiving ceremony of Rtd Col Prince Chris Mudoola, the 26th Ngobi of Kigulu chiefdom who succeeded the late HRH Patrick Izimba Gologolo at the helm. The function took place at Namungarwe sub-county headquarters in Iganga district.

“Today I want to clarify that Kigulu will not have two chiefdom offices and I’m speaking as the Kingdom premier because I have authority over that office. I request you(Prince Mudoola) the Ngobi of Kigulu chiefdom to reign and organize Kigulu,” Dr Muvawala said.

“The headquarter of Kigulu chiefdom must be occupied by the enthroned Ngobi and if he’s not the one occupying it, let that office be closed and security should take note of that. That office is in my control as the Kingdom administrator, and currently, I don’t want someone else in it except the right person,” Dr Muvawala added before tasking the Chief prince of Kigulu Hajj Ismael Kyeyago to give him a call before presenting the Ngobi to Kingdom headquarters in Bugembe so as not to find hardship.

He added that battles on who should be the Ngobi of Kigulu are over quoting that the princes and princesses in the chiefdom managed to confirm Col Mudoola for the seat and said he wasn’t involved in any confirmation exercise citing that he is not part of the deciding clan.

This comes after a parallel camp from the late Izimba’s family was reportedly blocked from accessing the Kingdom headquarters as they wanted to present the son and heir of the late Patrick Izimba Gologolo (Prince Gideon Gologolo) as the new Ngobi of Kigulu.

However, the prime minister of Kigulu chiefdom who was caretaking the office of Ngobi of Kigulu chiefdom, Mr Wakabi Noah alias Omulongo commended Busoga premier for trusting him with caretaking the seat and publicly handed over the responsibility to Dr Muvawala before he transferred the Ngobi seat to the new Ngobi(Rtd Col Prince Chris Mudoola) who was selected by relevant authorities in the chiefdom.

Meanwhile, the Ngobi of Kigulu Rtd Col Prince Mudoola commended the chief prince of Kigulu Hajj Kyeyago and other princes for appointing him and pledged to lead them amidst working together as a team.

“I thank the chief prince and other princes for honouring me to lead them and I pledge not to rule but lead them. However, I request that we work together as a team and start a new Kigulu with a new chapter for the good of our people in the region. You know very well that these responsibilities carry no salary and I call upon everyone to come close and we serve our people. I welcome all princes who are here and others who are not here and I’m ready to discuss because I can’t handle the chiefdom duties alone,” Col Prince Mudoola said.
