President Yoweri Museveni, the National Chairperson of the National Resistance Movemement

President Yoweri Museveni, the National Chairman of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) will tomorrow (Wednesday, March 29) meet all NRM village chairpersons in Kampala district with the special meeting expected to focus on the now popular “Jajja Tova ku Main” campaign.

The meeting organized by the Office of the National Chairperson (ONC) and the NRM Secretariat will take place at Kololo Independence Grounds starting at 2 pm (EAT). However, the arrival time for all village chairpersons is set for 11 am, to allow prior planning of the meeting attendees.

“The NRM Secretariat hereby informs all Kampala NRM Village Chairpersons of a meeting scheduled with the NRM National Chairperson and the President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni The meeting will take place on Wednesday the 29th of March, 2023, at Kololo Independence Grounds. The arrival time is 11 am, and the meeting will commence at 2 pm,” the notice from the NRM Secretariat reads.

Accordingly, all participants invited to the meeting will be subjected to mandatory Covid-19 tests, with the preparatory tests scheduled for up to Tuesday (today) at 2 pm.

“All Participants are required to undergo Mandtory covid-19 tests. The testing exercise is ongoing at the State House Land Directorate, Plot 58, Lumumba Avenue, and will end today (Tuesday) at 2pm,” reads the meeting notice.

The “Omalako Jajja Tova ku Main” phrase is derived from a mixture of Bantu Luganda and English words coined in a phrase literary translated to mean “Grandfather, You are still able, do not stray away from the Main Road, that is, stay on the right course, do not be diverted from the strategic mission ..”

The most important task of the NRM National Chairperson who is also the President of Uganda is similar to that of a bus driver, that is, to steer the bus to the agreed destination. The agreed destination is the NRM 2021 to 2026 Manifesto themed “Securing Your Future”.

In this Manifesto are the five priority areas of focus, that is; Creating Wealth and Jobs, Delivering Education and Health, Ensuring Justice and Equity, Protecting Life and Property and Achieving Economic and Political Integration. This is the real Main Road that the Bazzukulu under their National Coordinator Madam Namyalo Hadija Uzeiye are commanding and partnering with their Jajja Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to fulfil.
