KAMPALA, UGANDA: Victoria University (VU) has yet again continued to prove that it’s the only globally connected, innovative, and problem-solving University after securing exciting opportunities for Information Technology (IT) and Health professionals in the United Kingdom and Germany.
The University through a tweet announced that it is partnering with UK recruiters, CWG Recruit to hire Midwives and Nurses in the UK, and Arbeitsvermittlung Westfalen-Lippe (AWL) in Germany for exciting career opportunities for Hospitality and IT Graduates.
According to the announcement, Jörg Schäfer, the CEO of AWL Germany will jet into the country on the invitation of Victoria University for a career seminar on Monday, May 03rd to guide students on how to start their career in Germany.
“Are you a hospitality or IT student or graduate with a dream of working in Germany? Well here is the grand opportunity, Victoria University has partnered with Jorg Schafer CEO Arbeitsvermittlung Westfalen-Lippe (AWL) German. He will on May 3rd guide you on how to start a career in Germany. All IT and hospital students and graduates are welcome, including those from other institutions although priority will be given to our alumni and students,” VU announced in a tweet.
Additionally, aspiring nurses and midwives will also be having Mr Nishant Mamtora, Recruitment Director CWG Recruit UK to guide them on how to start a career as a medical professional in the United Kingdom.
“All the presentations will be hosted at Victoria University from 10 am,” the University added.
Although the event is open to all graduates and students from other universities, VU maintains that priority will be given to those who will have registered via a Whatsapp number +256 782 397 799.
While appearing on TV last month, Victoria University Vice Chancellor Prof Lawrence Muganga revealed that the university is fast growing and attracting a global presence and that such partnerships were underway to ensure Uganda increases on the expertise labour export.
“Victoria University is going to start taking its nursing students to the United Kingdom for work every year. Now, you have every reason to join us,” Dr Muganga said, before adding; ”Our students are assured of jobs; upon completing their studies, they can pursue employment in the UK with our assistance in facilitating the process.”

The exciting news comes just weeks after the university launched its Career Readiness and Employability Program (CREP) to enhance students with employable skills and stand out potentially in the job market, thanks to the success of its VU Success Formula.
