HOIMA: Man who beheaded his 9-month-old son lynched by mob

The juvenile identified as Ayebale Moris was beheaded by his father Musana Peter on Saturday afternoon after developing some misunderstandings with his wife.

HOIMA, UGANDA: An angry mob in Hoima City on Wednesday morning lynched one Musana Peter, a resident of Kiryatete West Cell on allegations of beheading his 9-month-old son.

The juvenile identified as Ayebale Moris was beheaded by his father Musana on Saturday afternoon after developing some misunderstandings with his wife.

ASP Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson confirmed the incident and said that Mr Musana was lynched this morning (Wednesday) at around 9:30 am while moving along Kitara Road in Hoima City.

Hakiiza said that Police were notified by a concerned citizen but unfortunately at the time they reached the rescue, Musana had breathed his last and the suspects had fled the scene of crime.

The police mouthpiece condemned the act he termed unlawful and said it jeopardizes investigations into the motive of the suspect for beheading his own son.

“As security, we are condemning the act of mob justice because it’s unlawful and also it jeopardizes police investigations since the deceased was still under police prob”.Afande Hakiiza said.

At the time of this report, police were yet to arrest any suspect while Musana’s lifeless body was conveyed to Hoima City mortuary as investigations into the matter continue.

Police also warned the public to desist from taking laws into their hands and always hand over such suspects to the authorities for the law to take action.
