Kyotera woman injects co-wife with poison, kills her

Police say Nakimera was rushed to Bulamu clinic for immediate treatment and later transferred to Byansi’s clinic in Masaka City where she died from on April 23, at around 6:30 pm.

KYOTERA, UGANDA: Police in Kyotera District is on a serious search for one Jackie Namubiru over murder after she injected her co-wife with suspected poison which killed her in the process.

Namubiru, a resident of Lwanzi “B” Cell, Mutukula Town Council in Kyotera is said to have attacked her co-wife Nakimera Lydia, 23, a salon owner in the same area with a syringe containing what is suspected to be a poisonous substance on April 20 at around 4 pm.

Police say Nakimera was rushed to Bulamu clinic for immediate treatment and later transferred to Byansi’s clinic in Masaka City where she died from on April 23, at around 6:30 pm.

“The suspect injected the victim with a syringe, containing suspected poisonous substances. She was rushed to Bulamu clinic and was later transferred to Byansi’s clinic in Masaka City in critical condition. The victim died from the poisonous substance on the 23. 04. 2023 at around 6:30 pm,” police spokesperson, Fred Enanga said on Tuesday.

The police spokesperson further urged the public to desist from acts of violence in relationships and condemned the act by Namubiru which he says could be resolved without using violence.

“We strongly condemn such acts of violence against rivals in relationships. Jealous behaviours can be destructive like in this very aspect, yet the Family Protection Units have mechanisms in place of resolving family disputes,” said Enanga.
