Tekwaro prime minister receives credential for Orimakori new clan leader

Accompanied by nine members of his chiefdom, PM Ojwang said Yafesi Okello Otim won the cultural clan leader election and was handed over the office by the former head Awitong called Silver Ongom.

LIRA, UGANDA: The Prime Minister Tekwaro Lango Chiefdom, George Ojwang Opota on Monday, May 08th officially received and recognised the new clan head of Orimakori, Mr Yafesi Okello Otim in his office at Oyam Road in Lira City.

Accompanied by nine members of his chiefdom, Ojwang said Yafesi Okello Otim won the cultural clan leader election and was handed over the office by the former Awitong (clan head) Mr Silver Ongom.

According to George Ojwang Opota, the new clan leader also took the oath of secrecy and oath of allegiance by counsel Egaru Emmanuel of Egaru Emmanuel and company advocate which this publication shows the documentation dated on both 27th March 2023 and 29th March 2023 respectively.

Ojwang said according to the election results three people contested for the position of Clan leader Orimakori and Yafes Okello Otim got 924 votes, followed by Olwa Leo with 641 who came second and Obua Tom came last with 506 votes.

Paulino Okello Opok, one of the junior leaders in the chiefdom and the spokesperson of Orimakori clan in Ajuri thanked the Paramount chief of Tekwaro Lango Dr. Eng Michael Odong Okune for the wonderful leadership witnessed in his administration at all times.

Tekwaro Lango Information minister Mr Okullo Patrick Okeng confirmed to the media that he is committed to working with all the clan leaders under the administration of Tekwaro Lango  headed by his highness Eng Dr Michael Odong Okune, and called for hard work and unity all the time during their administration

Mr Okullo said all the nine members were given cultural hand out /books to guide them in their daily work as they administer.
