KABALE, UGANDA: Police in Kabale district, western Uganda have arrested five suspects over murder of one Conrad Ninsiima, an electrician whose body was found dumped on Saturday morning in Nyamabare cell, Rushaki ward, Kabale Municipality.
The suspects have been identified as Positano Besigye, the proprietor of Bombocha Bar and Lodges, together with his two employees; Ben Kakuru, and Sam Niwahereza, and Medard Atwebembeire, the manager of a Standard Hotel, plus Amos Turinawe, a resident of Nyamweru Sub County in the district.
Police say Ninsiimba’s lifeless body was found dumped at the roadside in Nyamabale cell, on Rushaki-Rugyendeire road after he was allegedly slaughtered at Bombocha bar and lodges in Kigongi ward, Central division, in Kabale Municipality.
According to Ronald Ayebare a relative of the deceased, Turinawe on Saturday night at around 8 pm visited the vigil and told them how he was told to come and spy on the situation surrounding him and give them feedback.
Turinawe also narrated how they met Conrad in Kigongi near Uganda Revenue Office along the Kabale-Mbarara highway on his way home and convinced him to go to Bombocha Bar to buy him a drink where they later murdered him in room number four using a knife and his blood was collected using a red basin, during that time of slaughtering.
The Nyarukonkoromi village Chairperson Patrick Mugabe said that Turinawe led them to Bombocha, where Conrad was murdered, on the night of Friday which forced them to rush him to the Police for further interrogation.
Turinawe told them that they have been killing people before taking their blood for sacrifice and the deceased was the 6th person, targeting their blood.
The Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson ASP Elly Maate confirmed that the deceased was cut on the neck and his blood taken.
Maate added that they are also hunting for the night watchman at Bombocha, the driver of the vehicle that transported the body of Ninsiima to Rushaki, and the boda boda rider who was allegedly hired to transport the blood to Lake Bunyonyi where it was allegedly sold, as they also interrogate the suspects to lead them to others.
