The video clip circulating on Social media shows that the incident happened today 18th May 2023, during Parliament seating, where they passed the 2023/2024 National Budget after a marathon sitting on Thursday.

The caressing, although seen as normal by a section of MPs, has also been seen as trivial bringing to disrepute, the Honorable Parliamentary Chambers.

However, other legislators indicated that it is rather unfair to ridicule people who were seated in the chambers without a Parliamentary session taking place and yet several other MPs were also around.

The incident comes against the backdrop of rumoured dating among MPs in the August house, with several high-profile legislators accused of turning offices into rooms for romance.

Preliminary reports indicate that the male MP in the video has been identified as the MP representing People with disabilities, Mpindi Bumaali.
