Olulung Bosco, an Aspirant for Inomo Clan head position

LIRA, UGANDA: The Inomo clan leader aspirant Mr Bosco Olulung commonly known as Acan Adiro has accused the electoral commission of the clan of discrimination and violating the electoral constitution/ laws.

Olulung who was addressing the media on Saturday 20th May 2023 at Acanadiro Hotel Lira City said the electoral commission of the clan is sidelining him with the aim of shutting him down from contesting for the position after realizing that he has larger support from the clan members.

He categorizes the voting into three different groups with 10 per cent of some of the voters who need to take bribes, 10 per cent who have been planned by the electoral commission and true voters who are behind him taking the remaining 80 per cent.

Olulung said the level of education is not a requirement in cultural leadership but it is the only excuse these people are basing on but rather the capability of such a person who is contesting.

He added that he advised the said group to hold elders meeting to harmonize the situation but all are still in vain and has now threatened to drag the commission to court should they continue to block him from vying for the position.

He wonders why this commission is restricting only the position he is vying for while the same so-called law was for the position of clan head and leader.

Efforts to contact the clan’s electoral commission boss were futile since his known numbers were not available by press time.
