OYAM: LC1 chairman overjoyed as VP Alupo hands him new motorbike

OYAM, UGANDA: Alex Odoch, the LC1 Chairperson of Awangi village, Puropo parish in Iceme sub-county, Oyam district finally overjoyed his request for a motorcycle he placed before the Vice President Hon Jessica Alupo was finally answered.

Odoch, 49, during the late Col Okello Engola’s burial held on the 13th of May 2023 asked the Vice President to grant him a motorcycle aid saying his bicycle tubes had developed punctures hence preventing him from executing his duties efficiently.

His request has now been answered through the Oyam woman MP Santa Alum Ogwang who handed over the brand-new motorcycle to him over the weekend.

Hon Ogwang said the Vice president bought the Shs5M motorcycle to answer the request by the LC1 Chairman and cautioned him not to sell it but put it to good use by monitoring government programs in time.

Speaking to DailyExpress after being handed the brand new bike, Odoch who has been the Awangi village chairman since 2017 said the new motorcycle given to him will ease mobilization as his availability and mobility shall be made high.

Odoch’s new bike has now brought to three, the number of LC1 chairpersons in the Lango sub-region to demand and be rewarded motorcycles from the president’s office to ease their work as village heads.

Last week on Thursday, President Yoweri Museveni Kaguta gave five million shillings to Mr Ojok Alex, the LC1 chairman of Miciri village, Arwotingo Parish, Okwang Sub County in Otuke district when he requested a motorbike.

On the 15th of September 2022, the President when issuing land certificates to residents of Aberidwogo village in Alebtong district surprised the village LC1 chairman with Five [5] million shillings to help him with a motorcycle.
