LIRA, UGANDA: Lira City West Member of Parliament Hon Vincent Shedrick Obong has procured a brand new ambulance to ease the transportation of patients seeking for medical treatment within Lira City West division, Lira district in Northern Uganda.
Hon Obong while handing over the ambulance on Friday, May 26, appealed to leaders at all levels to make use of the available ambulance he bought to transport sick people to the hospital in time.
“We must have change of attitude towards our people by helping them access the available medical assistance as fast as possible,” said MP Obong.
“During the olden days of Lango, we lived together and shared things and ideas without selfishness as noted in some sections of some people in Lango today but for me I want this ambulance to serve everybody irrespective of party because sickness does not know party affiliation,” he added.
The MP further promised to struggle and do more in the health sector of Lira City West Division before the end of next year.
“I, therefore, call upon our people to cooperate with the health staff in Lira to make sure the sick ones, mothers who are expecting to deliver, are transported in time to the health unit or hospital,” said MP Obong.
Many people who spoke to our report have welcomed the development that it will improve health service delivery in the City of Lira.
Adong Dokas 23 from Omodo market said MP Obong has done a lot to improve service delivery by buying an ambulance therefore God should award him.
James Okello, 28 years old from Anai Ober, requested everyone in Lira City West to unite hands and work with MP Obong for more service delivery to reach our population as we expect him to do more in the near future.
