It is alleged last month, the victim identified as Derrick Atwijukyire while at his grandmother’s burial in Kigunda A cell, Mitooma district, met with Fr Kagabwa who was a close friend of his mother Juliet Kyarisimira.

Mr Tumusiime says that during the interaction, the catechist promised to get Atwijukyire a job and even shared his contact details.

On Monday this week, Kagabwa and Atwijukyire allegedly met at Kati high school in Mitooma district where he told him that he had got him a job and then rode him (Atwijukyire) to the home of Kenneth Atuhikire in Bushenyi district.

“He told the victim to sit on it and rode him up to the home of Atuhikire Kenneth in Bushenyi district, upon reaching Kenneth’s home, they found Turyasingura Obed the worker to Kenneth who welcomed them and boiled water for Kagabwa to bath, as he was bathing he called the victim to scrub his back,” Tumusiime said.

It is from here that Atuhikire prepared a bed where the three, Kagabwa, Atwijukyire, and Atuhikire slept.

According to Tumusiime, in the middle of the night, Kagabwa and Atuhikire started kissing the victim and rubbing his manhood, before other things happened thereafter.

“In the morning, they gave the victim Shs 5,000 and told him not to report.”

“When the victim was being taken back to his home, Kagabwa jumped off the motorcycle as they were approaching Mitooma Central police station and sounded an alarm that led to the arrest of Kagabwa while Atuhikire took off.”

Tumusiime says investigations into the matter have commenced and the victim has been examined by the police while the Catechist faces charges of alleged human trafficking and sodomy.
