Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited (UEGCL) has the mandate to develop, acquire, operate, and maintain electricity generation facilities in Uganda. UEGCL is the government’s implementing agency for the 600MW Karuma Hydropower Project and the 6.6MW Nyagak III Hydropower Project in Zombo District.

UEGCL will continue with plans to undertake other projects like the 48MW Muzizi Hydropower Project, the rehabilitation of the 1MW Maziba Hydropower Station, and the floating solar projects.
