OYAM, UGANDA: Queen Dorothy Amolo, the Oyam County North Parliamentary hopeful has revealed her aspirations on a number of issues in her manifesto as she vies for the parliamentary seat.
Speaking to DailyExpress in an exclusive interview on Tuesday, Ms Amolo said that her key priority for the next two years [2023-2026] if elected will be based on fulfilling every pledge that the former minister and area Member of Parliament Rtd Col Charles Okello Engola Mac-Odwogo [RIP] made to his electorates.
This, according to her, will be in addition to her personal manifesto that she feels is also good for the people who are in Oyam North County.
Amolo, a Ugandan born-American investor who worked in close partnership with Mac-odwogo to jointly implement many projects for the community in the constituency said that the only way to guarantee the sustainability of those projects is by electing her so that the latter’s legacy does not die.
According to her, scholarship programs for many students both at secondary level and tertiary institutions, alongside sustainable agriculture and market systems, and establishment of health units amongst others are key in her agenda for the 2023-2026 parliamentary representation for the people of Oyam North.
She made the remarks while addressing NRM delegates and other electorates at Iceme sub-county, Oyam district.
According to Amolo, if the NRM party members want to develop and retain the seat, they should never risk voting for anybody apart from her simply because she has all the qualities it takes to bring development to the people of Oyam North.
“The Problems of Oyam North are big, the NRM needs a person like me, I am going to represent that person who does not have a penny in his/ her pocket, that young girl/boy who cannot go to school, I am not just going to bring investors, I am going to represent the people’s voice,” says Amolo.
Ms Amolo is an international figure known for a good robust capacity, high level of exposure and huge networks which she can rely on to bring services closer to the populace.
Among some of her good agenda are, poverty reduction and the introduction of a lasting money economy through a sustainable agricultural system model.
She said that she will ensure that the health units are fully functional, strengthened and provided with sufficient drugs and medical supplies and equipment to respond to the healthcare needs of the people of Oyam North.
She has also promised to improve the standard of education, the health sector especially; the health centre, helping the needy like orphans and widows as the election date draws nearer.
Queen Dorothy Amolo is aspiring to secure the NRM flag that the election shall be conducted on Saturday the 13th of June 2023 at the Oyam District headquarters.
