Mukula, Todwong, Odoi camp in Bukedea ahead of LC5 By-election

The team that has for several days camped in Bukedea District in order to vote hunt for the NRM Flag bearer, Akol Mary urged to vote for the party candidate as the best choice for the LC5 byelection scheduled for Wednesday, June 14, 2023.

BUKEDEA, UGANDA: The NRM vice chairperson for Eastern Uganda Captain Mike Mukula, the party Secretary General, Richard Todwong, and the Electoral Commission chairperson, Tanga Odoi are among the several NRM bigwigs to have camped in Bukedea district to rally support for the party flagbearer ahead of the LC5 byelection.

Other prominent figures in the ruling party included; Sports Minister Peter Ogwang & Hon Opolot Patrick Isiaga, the Member of Parliament representing Kacumbala Constituency among others.

The team that has for several days camped in Bukedea District in order to vote hunt for the NRM Flag bearer, Akol Mary urged to vote for the party candidate as the best choice for the LC5 byelection scheduled for Wednesday, June 14, 2023.

Speaking at a campaign rally for NRM held on Sunday at Kongonga Primary School in Kachumbara Subcounty, Captain Mike Mukula requested all voters to entrust in Akol Mary for better service delivery in the area.

A total of six candidates are in the race to occupy the Bukedea LC5 seat that fell vacant following the death of the chairperson, Moses Olemukan last year in December.

These include; Mary Akol (NRM), Pius Edekeny an Independent, Lokwiisk Tychicus Ebukalin an Independent, and Sam Oita Odeke on the Forum for Democratic Change  (FDC) party ticket.

Other candidates in the race include independent candidates, National Unity Platform’s Paul Okiria, Salim Okwii (UPC on the Uganda Peoples’ Congress (UPC) as well as David Stephen Omagor (independent).
