Kabale clinical officer on the run over alleged rape of patient

Tukamushaba allegedly locked up the said patient who had visited the facility with a yet-to-be-identified illness for the examination and forced her into sexual intercourse.

KABALE, UGANDA: Kenneth Tukamushaba, a clinic officer attached to Rubaya Health Center IV in Lyakarimira Town Council, Kabale District is on the run for allegedly raping a female patient.

Tukamushaba who is the former Health In charge for Kakomo Health Center III in Kitumba Sub-county, allegedly locked up the said patient who had visited the facility with a yet-to-be-identified illness for the examination and forced her into sexual intercourse.

A reliable source from the Office of the District Health Officer told our reporter that Tukamushaba was demoted from being In-charge while at Kakomo Health Center III and deployed at Kahondo Health Centre III before he was transferred to Rubaya Health Center IV as a result of the same accusations.

Deputy Kabale District Resident Commissioner Andrew Ronald Bakak confirmed told DailyExpress that Tukamushaba who is currently on the run went into hiding on Thursday last week after getting information that the victim’s husband reported the case of rape at the police.

Bakak said that police have been calling Tukamushaba’s known phone number in vain and when our reporter repeatedly called him, the phone number could not be reached.
