Unknown assailants hack son of Busoga kingdom Minister to death

The incident, according to the late’s father happened at an unknown hour on Sunday night in Budhumbuli, Jinja City north division a few meters from where the victim lived.

JINJA, UGANDA: Police in Jinja City is on a manhunt for unknown assailants who hacked to death 32-year-old Rogers Kifubangabo, the son of Busoga Kingdom information minister and Baba FM general Manager Michael Kifubangabo.

The incident, according to the late’s father happened at an unknown hour on Sunday night in Budhumbuli, Jinja City north division a few meters from where the victim lived.

Mr Kifubangabo told this publication that the body of his son (a former Baba TV Presenter) was just found dumped with the head chopped on Monday morning.

“The killers were really so determined. They slaughtered him with machetes, leaving all the other body parts intact. Maybe he had misunderstandings with them. The police should investigate,” he said.

Rogers Kifubangabo will be laid to rest on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, in Nagweni village, Bulopa Sub-county, Kamuli district where Michael Kifubangabo is also the sub-county NRM chairman.

Journalists, friends and relatives are demanding investigations into his murder and pursuit of the assailants.

By press time, police had already launched a manhunt for the killers.
