MUKONO, UGANDA: The Police at Mukono Division are hunting for a 25-year-old woman who attempted to cut off her husband’s genitals on Tuesday morning after a series of domestic misunderstandings.

Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson identified the suspect currently on the run as Desire Kisakye Nsimenta, 25 and the victim as Vincent Sseguya, both residing at Kirangira B Cell in the central division, of Mukono municipality.

According to Onyango, the incident happened at 4:30 am on Tuesday when Kisakye got a sharp knife and cut off her husband’s genitals while he was in deep sleep before taking off to an unknown location.

“Sseguya alleges that they have had domestic issues ever since he came back from Qatar where he had gone to earn a living. Kisakye had lied to Sseguya that she was pregnant, but he came to realise that she was just faking the pregnancy,” Onyango said.

“Today, during the wee hours, Kisakye systematically picked a knife and attempted to cut off all Sseguya’s private parts. Immediately after that act, she fled to an unknown destination with Sseguya’s documents including a passport, national ID and his smartphone,” the spokesperson added.

Onyango said that Sseguya was rushed to Mukono Church of Uganda Hospital while severely bleeding but a hunt for Kisakye is on and once arrested, she will be charged with attempted murder.

Vincent Sseguya, who is currently admitted at Mukono COU Hospital

While speaking to Sseguya whom we found at the hospital waiting to go to the theatre for surgery, he alleged that Kisakye also attempted to poison him.

“We had separated after realising that she had diverted the money I used to send her to work on my rentals as I was still in Qatar. However, my parents and other relatives intervened and I allowed her back. Unfortunately, I did not know that she came intending to finish me,” Sseguya said.

“As Police, we appeal to the public to always solve their domestic misunderstandings amicably and avoid using violence,” Onyango appealed to the public.
