Three students of Nyapea College arrested for raiding school kitchen at Paidha SS

The Administration of Paidha Secondary School has handed over three students of St. Aloysious College, Nyapea in Zombo to Paidha Police Station after they were caught eating food and taking selfies in the school kitchen.

PAIDHA, UGANDA: The Administration of Paidha Secondary School has handed over three students of St. Aloysious College, Nyapea in Zombo district to Paidha Police Station after they were caught eating food and taking selfies in the school kitchen.

The arrested of the trio happened today (Monday) morning at around 10:00 am bearly a day after St. Aloysious College on Saturday, July 1, celebrated 85 years of existence and excellence in which students were urged to live an exemplary and God-fearing life.

According to a report from the school administrators, the apprehended students are considered serial perpetrators with two of them being transfer cases from St. Joseph College, Ombaci in Arua district over indiscipline issues.

Mr Wacal Wilfred, a teacher at Paidha SS said he got the students taking photos while enjoying supper and that raised his curiosity to interrogate them because phones are not allowed in the school premises leave alone the kitchen area.

When interfered, the drunk students told Mr Wacal how they are not members of the Paidha SS family but they had escorted their friend to Paidha, and later on met one of the students, a day scholar who took them to the kitchen to eat food.

According to the narrative given by Mr Aliku Yasin, a teacher at St. Aloysious College, only one of the students got permission to go and get fees for mock exams from his dad in Paidha town, but the other two students moved without permission.

“These boys are serial perpetrators in St. Aloysious College, please hand them over to the police for appropriate legal actions,” said Yasin when contacted by the administrators from Paidha SS.

Further reports allege that the three students have been frequenting Paidha secondary school gaining access to the school girls and eating food in Paidha secondary school.

Meanwhile, Bro Paul Nantinda, the Headteacher of St. Aloysious College, Nyapea said the three students should be handed over to the police to take appropriate action and their parents to be involved in all proceedings pertaining to the charges accorded by the Police.

“As St. Aloysious College we shall wait for them here and also administer necessary disciplinary actions, “said Bro Nantinda, the school headteacher.

Paidha Secondary School and St. Aloysious College are fierce rivals as far as the student population is concerned and students from the latter have occasionally been launching attacks on students of Paidha SS in any district event the schools meet.

The most recent attack happened during the Post-primary ball games Competitions in Zombo Town Council where students aboard a truck were ambushed, stoned and canned.
