Kiryandongo receives brand new motor vehicles from USMID-AF

Kiryandongo District Thursday received a brand new Toyota Hilux double cabin and two Honda motorcycles to facilitate the monitoring and supervision of works in the district.

KIRYANDONGO, UGANDA: Kiryandongo District Thursday received a brand new Toyota Hilux double cabin and two Honda motorcycles to facilitate the monitoring and supervision of works in the district.

The vehicles which cost 230 million shillings were donated by the Uganda Support to Municipal Infrastructure Development-Additional Funding (USMID-AF) to support the district activities.

Speaking at the function on Thursday, July 13, Ms Edith Aliguma the Kiryandongo District Chairperson asked the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Mr Martin Jacan Gwokto to ensure that the vehicles received are not abused but rather serve the purpose for which they were procured.

The Resident District Commissioner Mr Dan Muganga urged the works department in the district to ensure safe custody of the vehicles to avoid cases of theft citing a motorcycle which was stolen from Kyankende sub-county chairperson.

The vehicles were procured by Universal Engineering Limited as part of the 1.6 billion contract for the construction of the 11.2 km Nanda-Popara road in Nyamahasa sub-county, Kiryandongo district.
