IGANGA, UGANDA: A section of Born-again Pastors in Iganga district and other neighboring districts on Saturday led an exercise of cleaning the town of Iganga in preparation for a mega gospel crusade and conference starting tomorrow.

The crusade has been organized by Osborn Muyanja Ministries (OMM) led by presiding evangelist Dr Osborn Muyanja and is scheduled to run for a full week from Sunday, July 16 to Sunday, July 23, 2023.

According to organizers, the crusade will kick off with a matching session on Sunday morning involving all born-again believers in Iganga and other districts which is dubbed ‘Jesus’ Match’, through Iganga town to the crusade venue at Iganga railway grounds.

During the exercise of cleaning the town on Saturday morning, the chairperson of the organizing committee for the crusade and conference, Bishop Moses Batambuze says they have decided to clean the town as a way of creating awareness to the public to maintain a clean environment and as well as causing a spiritual signal that the gospel resides in a clean environment.

“We are aiming at sensitizing and mobilizing people for this crusade because some people may not know about it but wherever we’re cleaning, they are asking us our motive and we’re explaining to them this crusade and conference in addition to giving them fliers,” Bishop Batambuze who doubles as the Senior Pastor at Pearly Gates Church International Iganga told DailyExpress before adding that preaching the gospel doesn’t end in churches but the exercise of cleaning the town is another way of spreading the gospel.

According to Bishop Batambuze, cleaning the town will help in fighting diseases caused by poor hygiene since such diseases don’t discriminate against religion citing that they invited born-again christians and non-born against to join hands in cleaning the town.

“The Sunday match will see believers playing a number of sounds as a signal to alert the devil that all people in Iganga should be set free from any physical and spiritual bondage,” he said.

Pr Talemwa added that it marks the genesis of a crusade which will cause a change in people’s lives and he called upon the tormented ones to be part of the crusade and conference.

He quoted that Jesus could move doing good things for the people and it’s the reason for them to follow His footsteps.

However, Pastor Kyebogola Moses of Christ Ambassadors Embassy Church in Iganga said the exercise which kicked off at Iganga municipal council headquarters on various roads in Iganga town, was a success and he commended the pastors and their flock for carrying on the hygienic exercise ahead of the mega gospel gathering.

Meanwhile, one of the team members of Osborn Muyanja Ministries, Mr. Eddy Nsereko from the Lwengo district says the team is aimed at preaching the gospel of God without attacking any religion but targets the devil which most of the time persecutes servants of God.

“I confessed Jesus Christ and it’s now seven years moving with this gospel preaching team. This team doesn’t attack any individual or religion but fights the devil through preaching the gospel of Jesus which gives life,” Mr. Nsereko said before quoting the Bible scripture in Mark 16:15-17 which gives them authority to preach the gospel to all nations.
