KAMPALA, UGANDA: The Grand Mufti of Uganda His Eminence, Sheikh. Dr Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje, the National Chairman of Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) Prof. Dr Muhamadi Lubega together with other delegates of UMSC yesterday (Wednesday) met with the Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda and Members of the Uganda Muslim Parliamentary Caucus at the Parliament.
During the meeting, Speaker Anita Annet Among updated the team on what the House has done to take care of the Muslim community.
She briefed the team on the support that Parliament gives to the Office of the Parliament Imam, Muslims going to Mecca, opportunities for appointments, and other interventions that address the concerns of the Muslim fraternity.
Rt Hon. Among thanked the Mufti and his team for the support rendered to the House and for standing with MPs in their resolve to protect the morals and cultural heritage of the Country.
The National Chairman of UMSC Prof Dr Lubega Muhamadi thanked the Speaker for the Support toward Muslim affairs and the efforts in the recently passed Financial Institution Amendment Bill 2023.
The Mufti Of Uganda Sheikh Dr Ramathan Mubaje on his part handed over a copy of the newly Amended Constitution of UMSC to the Speaker and commended her for being a hard-working lady and for the tremendous work she’s doing for this Country.
The Meeting was attended by the 2nd Deputy Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Rukia Isanga Nakadama, Hon. Asuman Basalirwa ( Chairperson Uganda Muslim Parliamentary Caucus), Hon. Moses Hashim Magogo ( FUFA President), Hon. Abbasi Sekyanzi Mulubya ( National Executive Committee Member UMSC), Hon. Bashir Mbaziira (Kawempe North) and other Members of Parliament and Staffs.
