Forgotten police boss Sam Omala ‘resurrects’ at Mukula’s Security Company as Director of Operations

KAMPALA, UGANDA: The Retired Assistant Commissioner of Police, Sam Omala has finally clinched a job as the new Director of Operations at Arrow Security Systems Ltd, a Uganda private security company owned by Capt. Mike Mukula.

Capt. Mukula, who is also the National Vice Chairperson of the ruling NRM in the Eastern Region yesterday unveiled the retired police boss at the company head offices in Kampala and tasked him to use his experience to keep the peace and property of Ugandans.

At the event, Mukula said that it’s bad to leave retired security officers dormant because they can be easily attempted into wrong things to cause insecurity in the country.

He said the company he owns decided to employ Afande Omala because of his experience in security and his going to help junior officers be exposed to different tactics of keeping the peace as well as discipline to acts of Gun killings by security officers in the country.

In his short speech at the event, Omala applauded the management of Arrow security systems limited for their efforts to support the police in keeping law and order in the country and vowed to use his experience in security to help Arrow strengthen its system of keeping security in Uganda.

He also assured all customers of Arrow Security Systems that the company he now takes charge of will manage the risk of exposure of customers by providing them with quality integrated security solutions, supported by technology, manpower and resources in accordance with world-class standards and procedures.

Arrow Security Company is one of the biggest and sufficient private security companies that provides efficient and cost-effective integrated security solutions through skilled and highly trained personnel.

The company breeds high-quality dogs including the famous German Shepherds which are imported and well-trained by police.

ASP Omala became popular for crushing opposition political figures as commander of Police Operations in Kampala, especially during the 2011 Walk-to-work protests led by FDC’s former president Dr Kizza Besigye.

At the height of his career, the ruthless police officer served under the ruling NRM government with unmatched charisma and later retired to a quiet lifestyle in 2020.

In a recent interview, Omala grumbled about not being appreciated for his faithful service to NRM citing cases of when he rejected bribes involving millions of shillings.
