Man, 66, hacks wife over denied conjugal rights

Police spokesperson Fred Enanga Confirmed the incident

SEMBABULE, (UG): The Territorial Police in Greater Masaka have arrested one Kyeyune Aloysius, a 66-year-old man over the alleged murder of his wife for denying him conjugal rights and cheating.

Kyeyune, a resident of Kyambogo village, Nyabitanga sub-county in Sssembabule district is accused of hacking to death his wife Nassazi Glades, 40, in an incident that happened last Tuesday, August 08, at around 4 pm.

According to preliminary facts gathered, the couple has for long been embroiled in a toxic relationship over cheating allegations against the deceased, to the extent that the two were sleeping in separate rooms.

The Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga who confirmed the incident said on the fateful day, the suspect picked a hoe and hit the victim on the head, killing her instantly.

“The motive of the killing was established to be jealousy, after the suspect accused his wife of denying him, his conjugal rights and cheating on him, with other men in their marital home,” said Enanga.

Enanga strongly condemned the marital murder, stressing that the victim died violently after she was hit with a hoe on the head.

He noted that the Police will not tolerate such violent acts in relationships and the wider community, saying no one should take the law into their hands.

“The victim died in a violent manner after she was hit with a hoe on the head. We cannot tolerate such violent acts in relationships and the wider community,” he said.
