CORRECTION: KK Security guards not involved in Hoima shooting incident

The DailyExpress would like to address a mistake made in a recent story by one of our reporters over the scary incident in which three security guards fired live bullets as the Minister of State for Lands Mr Sam Mayanja and residents approached a contested land area in Hoima.

In the story which was published on Friday, August 25, the reporter without empirical facts attributed the implicated guards to be employees of KK Security, a GardaWorld company yet the guards belong to Pyramid Security Group, another security firm in the country.

As the editorial, upon realizing the mistake in the reporting, the story has since been updated with correct details regarding the incident. The corrected version can be found at https://bityl.co/M2cD.

When contacted for clarification, Mr Robinson Mwenda, the Country Manager of KK Security said that the security firm he heads has no guard(s) deployed in the area where the scary shooting incident occurred.

The Hoima District Police Commander, SP Jackson Bogere also aligned his submissions with that of Mr Robinson when he told this publication that the three guards (who are now in police custody) are not from KK Security as earlier reports had falsely alarmed but rather belong to Pyramid Security Group.

We, therefore, sincerely apologize to KK Security and our most esteemed readers for any inconvenience this error may have caused, and we reaffirm our dedication to upholding the highest standards of accuracy and integrity in our subsequent reporting.
