Sir Simon Muyanga Lutaaya named Baba Media Group General Manager

Kampala, (UG): Veteran TV show host, Sir Simon Muyanga Lutaaya has been appointed the new General Manager of Jinja-based Baba Media Group in the new changes aimed at scaling up the group’s competitiveness in the broadcasting industry.

Baba Media Group, one of the prominent media consortiums in the country owns both Baba Radio in Jinja and Baba Television in Kampala where Muyanga Lutaaya has been the Quality Assurance Manager.

His appointment as General Manager was announced on Tuesday, August 29, by the Media Group’s CEO and former MP (Jinja Wes) Hon Moses Grace Balyeku in a meeting held at Baba TV Head offices in Ntinda, Kampala.

In the changes seen by this website, the former NBS TV News Anchor, Sir Simon Muyanga replaces Noordeen Ntege (formerly at Bukedde TV) who now becomes the Acting CEO at the fast-growing Media House.

According to Baba TV Communications Manager, Mr Adam Almahad Kungu, the changes take immediate effect as the station looks to propel its competitiveness in the market.

Mr Kungu spoke confident of Lutaaya whom he described as a true holder of the required expertise and experience to position the brand well.

Lutaaya’s elevation to new heights comes after just eight months of serving as the Quality Assurance Manager of Baba TV, a position he has used to reshape the brand.

The Veteran media guru boasts of two and a half decades of experience in the media industry where he has worked through high levels in both Television and radio.

He is the lead presenter of Baba TV’s flagship morning show GANGAMUKA which has recently been trendy and controversial. He is also the host of the popular weekly online show #TheInsideOut with Joseph Tamale Mirundi, the Senior Presidential Advisor on Media.

Outside the media house, Muyanga Lutaaya recently stunned the nation when he publicly declared his support for President Museveni’s son General Muhoozi Kainerugaba to become the next President of Uganda.
