Kampala NGO boss wanted over child sexual trafficking

Kampala, (UG): The Police in Kampala Metropolitan South and Nateete Division are on a serious manhunt for one Samba Isaac Zaklio, the proprietor of PURE LOVE UGANDA (a Kampala-based NGO) on allegations of trafficking children for sexual exploitation.

Pure Love Uganda (PLUG) according to information on their website is a child and widow support organization based in Busega, in Nateete – Rubaga Division. The NGO which started operations in 2015 registers vulnerable children from all parts of the country and sponsors their education, providing care and welfare, through friends from America.

However, according to preliminary facts gathered, it is alleged that in October 2022, Samba Isaac physically and sexually harassed girl victims who were being sponsored by the NGO.

“One of the female victims took courage and reported the matter to a concerned citizen who alerted police. A total of 9 children were rescued, 6 males between, the ages of 14-20 and 3 females aged between 15-18, respectively,” Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga said in a police statement.

The Police boss encouraged any girl victims who have fallen prey in the hands of the runaway NGO boss to reach out to the nearest police authorities and share information which will be useful in the ongoing investigations.

“We encourage any other victims still out there, to come forward and share any information they have with the police. We continue to combat and fight all forms of trafficking in persons, because of its negative impact on society.”

Enanga assured the public that all perpetrators of child and human trafficking will be aggressively pursued, and charged to court.
