Kampala, (UG): President Yoweri Museveni is today, Sunday, October 08, 2023, expected to address the nation on the upcoming 61st Independence Day celebrations and other matters of national importance.
The address according to the Presidential Press Unit (PPU) will be aired live on all local radio and TV stations.
In a snippet of today’s Presidential Address, H.E. Yoweri Museveni is expected to touch upon various aspects of this significant national holiday.
It is also anticipated that the President will highlight the importance of unity, peace, and development as pillars of Uganda’s growth as a nation over the past six decades. He may also commend the resilience and strength of the Ugandan people in the face of challenges.
Uganda every year on 9th October celebrates her independence in commemoration of the nation’s liberation from British colonial rule in 1962.
However, the President’s address will not be limited to Independence Day celebrations. It is expected that he will use this platform to discuss several critical matters that have been at the forefront of Uganda’s national agenda.
