Man collapses dead at Kisenyi Bus Terminal

Kampala, (UG): The Police in Kampala have opened up a case file of sudden death after a passenger destined for Mbarara District Thursday collapsed dead at Kisenyi Bus Terminal in downtown Kampala, Uganda’s capital.

Mr Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police, identified the deceased as Dickson Namanya, who had been feeling unwell before his sudden death.

“A sad incident occurred at Kisenyi Bus Terminal, Central Division, Kampala, where Namanya, a passenger on the Swift Bus heading to Mbarara, suddenly and tragically passed away,” Mr Owoyesigyire stated.

“The incident took place around 2:00 PM, as reported by Javira Kiwana, an attendant at the terminal. Namanya, visibly unwell, had stopped at the terminal’s facilities but passed away just outside the restroom before entering,” he added.

According to Mr Owoyesigyire, preliminary investigations indicate that Namanya was indeed a passenger, having obtained a ticket for the Swift Bus service to Mbarara.
