Luweero school director arrested over defiling six pupils

Luweero, (UG): The Police in Luweero District are holding Jona Sebamanya, the Director of Kings Palace Primary School who was arrested on allegations of defiling six P.7 Pupils.

The Regional Police Spokesperson, ASP Sam Twiineamaziima confirmed the incident and said the suspect is currently in police custody at Luweero Central Police Station as investigations into the allegations continue.

According to preliminary police findings, it is alleged that Jona committed the defilement act between the months of September 2023 and October 2023 in areas of Kakokolo village and in Kikubajinja village in Luweero District.

The victims according to a police report are underage girls between 13 and 17 years.

ASP Twineamaziima says a case file of defilement was opened up on October 25, 2023, when a report that 6 pupils had allegedly been defiled by the suspect reached the hands of officers at the station.

He says that however, medical reports conducted established that only 3 pupils aged 17, 14 and 15 years were sexually abused.

“All victims are pupils at Kings Palace Primary School in Luweero district and all are P.7 candidates,” Twiinamaziima said as he explained circumstances surrounding the incident.

“One other suspect is on the run and efforts to have him arrested are ongoing,” he added.
