Son kills man he caught having an affair with mother in garden

Kitgum, (UG): The Territorial Police in Aswa East region and Kitgum District, have put up a serious manhunt for a male adult over the alleged murder of a man he found having an affair with his mother in a potato garden.

The runaway suspect identified as Ochira Siliman is accused of beating to death Ocakacon Ben, a 54-year-old, manfriend to his mother and peasant of Jenga village after he reportedly found him having an affair, with his mother Aloch Filder in the garden near their home.

The incident according to Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga happened on the 31st October 2023 at around 9 pm at Jenga Village in Kitgum District.

“He boxed and hit the victim repeatedly with a stick killing him instantly and thereafter, abandoned his body in the garden,” Mr Enanga said in a brief statement explaining the circumstances surrounding the event.

He added that the body of the victim was conveyed to Kitgum General Hospital for post-mortem and later handed over to the relatives for a decent burial.

Mr Enanga cautioned against acts of elderly abuse by children and said that once apprehended, the son will be charged in court with acts of murder by assault.

“We strongly condemn such acts of elderly abuse by children. The son whose actions were premeditated, kept spying on his mother, and attacked his lover, with a huge stick. He was rife with rage and anger,” Mr Enanga stated, adding that “efforts are now in place to trace the whereabouts of the suspect and bring him to book.”
