Bududa, (UG): Security agencies in Bududa District, eastern Uganda are actively investigating an incident of aggravated robbery after thugs armed with guns raided Buwali Catholic Parish and robbed the Parish Priest of an unspecified amount of money said to be in millions of shillings.
The shocking incident according to local reports is said to have occurred at around 2:00 AM on the night of Friday, 24th November 2023 when the robbers successfully broke into the Parish Priest’s house.
Eyewitnesses who preferred anonymity alleged that the thugs broke into the house of the Priest identified as Patrick Obbo and put him at gunpoint asking him to give them money.
The priest in panic showed them where the church money was kept. The thugs then removed all the money leaving the Safe empty.
Speaking of the incident, the Bududa Resident District Commissioner confirmed the incident and said security is investigating the matter.
The RDC urged people to be vigilant during this Christmas Season saying many thugs are on the loose looking for money.
