Uganda and Tanzania triumphed in their Group B matches on Saturday, December 2, to secure spots in the semi-finals of the CECAFA U-18 Boys Championship.
Uganda U18 team showcased its prowess with a convincing 2-0 victory over South Sudan, while Tanzania and Zanzibar battled to a 1-1 draw in Kakamega.
Despite both teams (Tanzania and Zanzibar) finishing the group stage with identical points and goals, The former clinched the semifinal spot due to their superior fair play, boasting only 4 yellow cards compared to the latter’s 5.
With Saturday’s matchday results, Uganda and Tanzania now join Rwanda and hosts Kenya in the semifinals.
Focus now shifts to the semifinals due to be played on Tuesday, 5th December where Kenya will verse Tanzania at 12:00 pm, while Uganda take on neighbours Rwanda at 3:00 pm, all games at Mamboleo Kisumu.
