Uganda’s U18 Boys team emerged victorious over Rwanda U18 to secure a coveted spot in the final of the CECAFA U18 Boys Championship following a 1-0 victory at Jomo Kenyatta Mamboleo Stadium in Kisumu City on Tuesday afternoon.

Coached by Morley Byekwaso, the U18 Junior Cranes triumphed over the neighbours courtesy of a solo strike by KCCA FC’s youngster, Abubakar Mayanja in the 59th minute.

The intense semi-final saw a goalless first half, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.

However, Mayanja’s 59th-minute strike proved to be the game-changer, propelling Uganda into the final and dashing Rwanda’s hopes.

Meanwhile, in the other semi-final between Kenya and Tanzania, the match ended in a goalless draw, pushing the game into extra time and eventually penalties. Kenya clinched victory in the penalty shootout, securing a 4-3 win over Tanzania.
