Ugandans, especially music lovers will next week have a taste of the original Blu*3 trio after legendary female musicians; Lilian Mbabazi, Jackie Chandiru, and Cindy Sanyu will all storm the stage for the first time to perform at their maiden reunion show.
Dubbed “The Blu3 Reunion,” the event is happening on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at The Protea Skyz Hotel in Naguru, Kampala.
The news of the trio’s reunion was revealed on Wednesday afternoon in a post by Protea Skyz Hotel in Kampala via X, formerly known as Twitter.
The Blu*3 are greatly remembered for having covered the music scene and Ugandan airwaves in the last two decades enabling them to sweep almost all awards that dared to nominate them.
For years, their fans have been yearning for a reunion of the trio but there have been obstacles preventing it from happening.
Even one of the trio’s members, Jackie Chandiru five years ago hinted at a reunion when she revealed that she would cherish reuniting with her ex-Blu*3 members after she had suffered deteriorating health related to drug addiction.
Cindy, a vibrant member and then leader of the group would then hint that if there is any chance, she would love to work with her former comrades on a reunion song.
Despite all the three artists having had relatively successful careers since the group was dissolved, Cindy Sanyu seemed to have excelled better in her endeavours and will definitely lead the reunion campaign.
The Blu*3 is famously known for relating songs like Hitaji, Nzijukira, Where You Are, and Burn among others which over the years dominated the music charts.
