Uganda Premier League giants, Vipers SC are set to face off against Kitara FC in a league match fixture today, December 7th, 2023, at 7 pm under the floodlights at St Mary’s Stadium.

Riding high on back-to-back victories over URA FC and UPDF FC, the Venoms are determined to maintain their winning streak in the Uganda Premier League.

Currently positioned second on the league table with 20 points, Vipers SC faces tough competition from Kitara FC, hot on their heels in third place with 19 points.

The upcoming match promises to be a crucial encounter, with the victor closing in on league leaders BUL FC, who stand at 25 points.

Vipers SC, led by Brazilian coach Leonard Martins Neiva, go into the match as favourites, having secured victories in their last four meetings against Kitara FC across various competitions.

Kitara, on the other hand, aims to defy the odds and turn the tables, seeking redemption for previous defeats in the Uganda Cup and league encounters.

Notable players in the spotlight include Paul Mucureezi and Dan Sserunkuma, who were instrumental in previous victories against Kitara.

Fans can also anticipate the return of Abubakar Lawal, who missed the recent match due to illness but has resumed training with the team.

However, Patrick Mbowa, granted compassionate leave for university exams, is expected to rejoin the squad after the clash.

With a fully fit squad, except for long-term absentees Hilary Mukundane and Alfred Mudekereza, Neiva faces critical decisions in selecting his 23-man roster for the upcoming battle.
