Bushenyi, (UG): The Office of the NRM National Chairman (ONC) Manager, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye has assured Ugandans that President Yoweri Museveni is not contemplating to retire from his presidency arguing that he, just like other revolutionaries, ‘they never quit.’

Hajjat Namyalo who also doubles as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs made the remarks on Thursday, December 07, where she officiated at the belated International Youth Day at Kizinda Playground in Bushenyi Municipality.

Addressing a magnitude of bazzukulu from various districts of Western Uganda, Namyalo revealed that some “confused” people have been diverting Museveni’s support with claims that the ‘man with hat’ will be stepping down any time soon something she said is untrue and should not be given attention.

“Before I say anything, I have come here to tell you that our dear president Yoweri Museveni is just preparing himself and warming up for the 2026 elections, let no one confuse you that he is soon retiring, that’s PokoPoko that you should trash to the nearest dustbin,” Ms Namyalo remarked amid ululations from the thousands of NRM supporters.

According to her, the ONC is on the mission of transforming all the Bazzukulu especially the youths, economically through giving them empowerment tools to fight poverty out of the millions of homesteads in Uganda.

Ms Namyalo then proceeded to hand out an assortment of capital items including hair dryers, tailoring machines, brick-laying machines, popcorn making machines, among others to boda boda riders, market vendors, and students at the KIU Ishaka-Bushenyi campus, among other groups.

“We have traversed various districts and today we are here in Bushenyi. Thanks for welcoming us but be informed that all these you see here [referring to empowerment tools] are yours. Museveni wants all his bazzukulu to be economically stable,” said Namyalo after handing over the items, before urging the beneficiaries to use them genuinely and effectively to achieve the intended goal of ending poverty among Ugandans.

At the same function, the Bushenyi Woman Member of Parliament, Hon Annet Katusiime Mugisha reported to Hajjat Namyalo that farmers in Bushenyi are facing the challenge of low tea prices and sought for solution from the President through her office to help the farmers overcome this challenge.

Hon Katusiime also thanked Namyalo for grooming leaders noting that several youths in Bushenyi have since turned into capable leaders after she appointed them as coordinators.

“We as women and youths in Bushenyi are so happy to tell you that your works are unique and sincerely you have breathed fresh air into NRM and we can now feel the vibe that we have been missing for decades,” noted Hon Annet before asking Namyalo to lobby for the youths an incubator to boost their poultry farming.

In response to her request about the farmer’s challenges, Hajjat Namyalo acknowledged that this is a general problem that also hinders people in Mityana district noting that despite being one of the major cash crops the country is proud of, farmers earn almost nothing from it.

“I am sure some mafias must be behind this issue of low prices of tea because you can’t be crying like this yet this is a major cash crop Ugandans should be benefiting from. Therefore, I request you to add your voice to that of the people of Mityana and we petition out Jajja. I know he will intervene immediately he gets to know about this,” noted Namyalo.

The team from the Office of the Nationation Chairman (ONC) was Thursday led by Ms Rosette Kazaire, the Head of Political Mobilisation, Mr Kintu Moses, the Assistant Communications Officer, Mr Kintu Moses and western region coordinators who all helped in the distribution of the items to the Bushenyi beneficiaries.
