West Nile mourns bodaboda boss Rasul Oryem

Zombo, (UG): The communities in Paidha Town Council, Zombo District in the West Nile Region are mourning the untimely demise of Mr Rasul Oryem who passed on at Mulago National Referral Hospital in Kampala on Tuesday afternoon.

Oryem who at the time of his passing was Vice Chairperson of the West Nile Region Bodaboda Association (WENREBA) was last seen active in his routine activities and was undertaking medication from a renowned medical clinic within Paidha Town Council until last week when he was referred for better treatment and care at Mulago Hospital where he was diagnosed with acute headache eventually leading to his death.

The deceased who also diligently and industriously served as vice chairperson of the Zombo District Bodaboda Association (ZODIBA) and as chairperson of Paidha Main Bodaboda Association (PAMBA) is vividly remembered for inspiring many youths into the motorcycle transport business as he pioneered this business venture within Paidha Town Council amidst many other obligations he administered.

This publication has also learnt that the management of Zombo District and Paidha Main Bodaboda Association have already organised a fire-lighting vigil in memory of the fallen comrade Oryem at their offices in Paidha town council.

Mr. Fred Onenarach the Chairperson ZODIBA who spoke to this publication during a press release asked for calmness among the bodaboda riders across the region and confirmed the demise of Rasul Oryem that occurred at about 2 pm on Tuesday, December, 12, at Mulago National Referral Hospital in Kampala.

“I want to confirm to the entire nation, West Nile Region, and Greater Nebbi Districts that we have lost a dedicated man who belonged to the Zombo district Bodaboda association in the name of Rasul Oryem, he passed away at Mulago National Referral hospital as christians, we believe that is God’s plan,” Mr Onenarach remorsefully told DailyExpress during the press release.

At the time of publishing this story, postmortem results were not yet availed to the media but plans were underway to mobilize resources and other forms of support to help transport the body of the late Rasul Oryem from Kampala back home for a decent send-off.

This publication also understands that all bodaboda riders from Zombo and Nebbi Districts will today, (Wednesday), welcome the body of Rasul Oryem in a procession leading to Paidha where the vigil is expected to be held.
